Over the past 23 years Paul has worked as a staff photographer for the Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian Financial Review and as a freelancer for The Australian, London Sunday Times, The Guardian, Associated Press and Agence France Presse. He has travelled extensively throughout the world, including spending time in Jerusalem documenting the Israeli–Arab conflict and in south Africa witnessing the end of apartheid and the election of Nelson Mandela. He considers his visit to Papua New Guinea a career highlight.
